PROJECT: |
Sediment Fate-Trace Dye Study |
LOCATION: |
Huntington Beach, California |
DATE: |
2004 |
Rhodamine dye was used to trace the spread of effluent from the Santa Ana River and adjoining marsh in California as part of studies to uncover the sources of contaminated waters causing frequent beach closures. Ocean Imaging configured its aerial multispectral sensor to maximize rhodamine detection and was able to quantify its concentrations using field measurements for calibration.
